What she claimed - was that a man tried to sell her perfume in a busy parking lot. He walked away from her after he saw she had her infant with her, go tin a car with a couple of other men and drove off. She then said she was scared that maybe they were going to harm her because she had read stories about abduction attempts that were similar to this, and that made her think that maybe thy would have harmed her.

What you posted - a link to Snopes showing that a viral internet story from a while back about men tricking women into smelling something, which would then incapacitate them, was a false Internet rumor.

How she responded - is that she said yes, but what happened to her was real, and she had seen other articles, and linked to one implying that someone had tried to kidnap someone.

The problem with your claim, in my opinion - is that she was not bullshitting. Someone seems to have tried to sell her perfume in a parking lot and it frightened her after the fact because she had read some stories. She did not make up someone trying to sell her perfume. (And if that is what you are claiming, you did not call her out on it). She did not make up that she was frightened after the fact after recalling stories she had read. And that is all she claimed - the attempted perfume sale and her fear because she had read something she believes to be true. You might think her fear was unfounded or unreasonable, but that does not make her taking about the event or her reaction false. She just did not agree with you that all such stories are false because you found that Snopes had said one (or even some, perhaps) was false. She is not the author of the Snopes story and I think she even agreed with you that Snopes said that story is false. Of course she was not friendly with you because you came right out with the snark about the girls scout cookies. I get that she annoyed you, but that does not mean she was bulshitting. Her fear just does not make sense to you, maybe.

I happen to be subscribed to both groups, by the way. Going through all my subscriptions and trying to catch up and that's how I found this in both places.
