26 year old female with hsv 2. I have been having recurring, mild, OB’s vaginally for about 3 months now after it being dormant for almost 3 years. Am on Valcyclovir daily, and ramp up dosage when I feel prodromal symptoms occurring. 3 days ago, my boyfriend and I had anal sex after having regular intercourse for a couple minutes beforehand. I believe I was shedding the virus and it has now been transmitted into my anus. Getting the slight tingles in places I’ve never had them before just barely inside my rectum… nothing on the outside though and can’t feel or see any actual blisters or sores forming.. just some mild discomfort and itchiness that is absolutely freaking me out. I feel like such an idiot. I feel reckless, incredibly depressed, and very scared. Does anyone have a similar experience with this? Dealing with hsv2 vaginally as well as anally, and what the long term for that is like? Does anal sex trigger OB’s for you? How reoccurring are anal OB? Do they always happen at the same time? ….. any feedback would be deeply appreciated. Feeling very alone and going back into the same shame, depression cycle I went through with original vaginal diagnosis.
