Are swimming pools a good indicator of subsidence?
I temporarily moved into this lovely coastal home last summer. It belongs to a colleague and I'm gradually refitting and redecorating some rooms as a favour in my free time (which I have a lot of for obvious reasons).
The building, the garden, the pool are all on top of the same concrete foundation. A sort of 'block' embedded in a rocky/craggy hillside and fixed quite deeply into it with (I believe) girders.
The water in the pool seems significantly unlevel considering it was only installed approx. 20 years ago. I can also place a ball on the floor at the back of the house and it will roll all the way to the front unaided. Owner says the property has been surveyed recently and it's nothing to worry about, but it's really playing on my mind.
