Operation Guardian of the Walls / Local unrest megathread

let me answer this way... i know people in jerusalem who have in fact sought out the original title holders of the land they live on, the records are typically now in jordan or egypt. they then hire investigators who seek out and find the ancestors of those original land owner who are not able to nor even want to reclaim their house which today may be in the middle of rechavia.
so a settlement is reached between the current jewish "owner" and the displaced arab progeny, and essentially pay them off to transfer full title of the land to the jews living there today. to the arab it's found money, to the jew his concious is clear. it's of course exceptional that the jew would seek out the arab to pay off, but the reverse is completely possible where the arab can seek compensation from the jew - however, israel courts generally don't support or enforce such a claim, thus few are ever made, and even if they were, it would typically be too expensive for the arab now living outside of israel to ever hope to recope any of his costs.
for these reasons and many more - any real estate lawyer in israel belly laughs every time they see hamas propaganda of arabs walking around with keys to reclaim their homes in israel - since few if any actually have a legal leg to stand on - even if then entire area became some Palestinian state, and all the jews voluntarily walked into the sea...
