Operators Sign £1bn Deal for 95% Geographic UK 4G Cover by 2026

5G is completely pointless right now and will be for another 4-5 years.

Right now it's nothing more than a marketing term and the number of reasons for actually needing 5G is about 2 and applies to a very select set of circumstances.

Also the majority of 5G at the moment is being provided on the milimeter wavelength which is useless once you are out of sight of the towers, even standing under a bus stop will lose your 5G signal.

Don't buy the hype. You don't need to pay for 5G to buffer Netflix 100 times faster than it takes to watch it, your phone's other internal parts literally can't process the websites you are going to even if the connection speed is 100x faster, 90% of the apps on your phone are less than 60MB and take less than 10 seconds to download, do you really need to pay an extra 20 quid a month + 300 quid more for the 5G version of your phone so it downloads at the same speed because the app store servers supply the file at a slower speed than your 5G connection offers.
