Don't get me wrong I still enjoy it, just find it to be less interesting than every other Opeth record. Believe me I have listened to every Opeth record countless times. I listen to music while I work and Opeth is heavy on the rotation lol.

I quite like The Night and Silent Water, there are flashes of brilliance throughout the album. Overall it's just kind of lackluster for me. I feel like Mikael was still coming into his own as a songwriter.

For me My Arms Your Hearse is where Opeth start to really shine and everything from then on is pretty much pure gold. Every record after that, Still Life onwards I love.

The first 2 sound like the prototype for what would eventually be amazing. Still enjoy them but definitely don't put them on as much as Sorceress, ICV, BWP, Still Life and Ghost Reveries I think those are probably the top 5 in my book.

But hey that's just my opinion, that's the beauty of music, different stuff appeals to everybody.
