Opinion: Free speech is not under threat at universities

I think the fact that you can't take people you disagree with seriously is sort of a point against you?

Their movement is poorly articulated and intellectually shallow. That's my subjective view. If they had better ambassadors my view would be different.

"Seem upset over the most pointless shit"

Is very subjective. They don't think whatever they're upset about is pointless, do you understand why they think what they do? Or do you just look from your perspective and decide "seems pointless"? Many times I see stuff like "they just hate xyz", shallow statements that gloss over so much nuance and detail. Really stifling to productive dialogue. Not to say this is exclusive to "PC, left", but it is far more apparent from them.

Yes it is subjective. I'm capable of considering other points, that has been my job for a large part of my life as a lobbyist and policy analyst. I cam see where theyre coming from and I think they have a few decent arguments surrounded by pointless shit. Also hilarious of you to talk about stifling as if it isn't a hallmark of this movement. Any policy that they can't understand is PC gone mad etc. You're smugness is so misplaced.

"Seem full of bigots"

Again, SEEM. Not saying they aren't or they are, but using "seem" so much to me sort of suggests a somewhat limited understanding.

Oh fuck off using speech that is not absolutist is an acknowledgement that I'm sure that the movement is not full of people with bigots. The notable individuals within the movement and the general anti pc culture give the false impression that it's full of bigots and preoccupied with insignificant bullshit, they do the movement a disservice. But they do provide an undeniable character to the movement.

Regardless of ones opinions on the "right" they are by and large not at all in favor of restricting speech at all, even that of those who use it to advocate against them. I don't think the same can be said for the "PC, left" sorta spirit that currently prevails.

I think you're projecting and glossing over the faults in your movement and the faults on the right and that you have a distorted and ignorant view of the left. I say that as someone on the right.
