Opinion Piece: Why is Android Still the Second Platform Developers Work On?

Yet...the only example you've given is Monument Valley. So who else? Give me an example from the past two years.

I'm a little busy to go and fetch sources for you right now. There have been plenty given over the last year alone. If I have time later today I'll go and find some but you can do this too(if you care enough)

Approximately zero Android users are "bitter" about "waiting". They just move on with their life and the game/app loses a potential customer. Such goes life.

Did you even see the threads in /r/Android about Fallout being delayed for a few months? There are plenty of people within the Android community who are bitter about it

You keep say that it cost MV devs dearly but yet you have yet to give proof that any developer has made millions of dollars(on Android) by releasing their app on Android at the same time of iOS. So where are your sources?

Which wouldn't even matter really, because it's all in comparison. If a dev made millions of dollars from their Android release, then they almost assuredly made at least twice that amount from their iOS release.

Again, that is what it boils down to. Most developer teams can't just pump more money into a project and hire twice as many developers to work on iOS and Android releases at the same time. This is what is going on with the Fallout companion game and that's Bethesda!

These teams have a certain amount of resources. They can choose to focus on one platform and release it by X date then switch focus on another platform and release it a little later. Or they can work on both of them at the same time and have the product out the door months later than if they had focused on one platform at at time.

When focus has to be put on one platform so that a developer team can ship something out the door in a timely manner(like the Fallout team is having to do to coincide with the E3 announcement so that it builds hype), then again, it is a smart business decision to focus on iOS first
