Opinion of those who don't want to see Oregon in the playoffs?

No, I think the diehard fans are very vocal, supportive, relatively small portion of the fanbase, specifically when talking about fans who attend games. Our ticket sales are down-down-DOWN from 5 years ago, and it's a significant chunk of the department's income. Unfortunately, I do think the bottom line matches how the season feels to the non-dedicated fan. I certainly don't think a Rose Bowl victory is anything close to a 'loser mentality', but that's life in the CFP era I suppose. And no, I don't think our legacy, fanbase or donor base are anything close to what any of those schools have, plain and simple.

I would love to see us go to the CFP and win out. But if we go and lose bad in a CFP semifinal, I'm afraid it will be the same old story about how 'we don't belong on the national stage'. A Rose Bowl win would be a great cap at the end of a great season. So would a CFP Championship. Hopefully the fans come back to the stadium too, either way.
