Opinions on free feeding?

That’s bizarre, but unsurprising.

Dry food is made for our convenience only. It’s affordable, filling, and long lasting. If that’s what your budget allows, then that’s okay. But I do suggest you do your research into cat foods, because a lot of it is just crap.

Only dry is bad. Even the lowest quality wet is better than the best quality dry. I’m trying not to say too much to not be preachy etc. Please do your research on this and come to your own conclusion.

Grazing is unnatural for cats. I don’t like free feeding. Feeding time is an opportunity to bond with your baby, we want them to see us as their food source, you lose that with free feeding.

That second vet was correct about different textures, that’s good advice. Different textures, different flavours, it’s good to have variety in rotation. This can help avoid allergies, pickiness and boredom.

And remember your baby is growing fast and needs lots of food! I do 4-6 meals a day and let them eat their fill each sitting.

Good on you for caring :)
