Opinions on having children these days?

It's a common view that you should not have children if you cannot provide for them.
What about the planet, what about the carrying capacity and what it can provide? Perhaps we need to should be factoring in the quality of life our children could experience.

  • Antibiotic resistance combined with the odds of a viral outbreak (made worse by anti vaxxers).
  • Of course climate change and the implications of that. Loss of arable farmland, food and water scarcity, cities becoming uninhabitable due to temperature, resurgence in viruses and bacteria.
  • Rise in partisanship and hate, there is a growing demand for people to "state their side".
  • Resource scarcity and rise in price of consumables.
  • and so on...

The world needs to re-balance and I don't think it's a good time to have children, perhaps in 60-80 years we will be in a better place.
