Opportunity: find career agents (ccplease)

I have in-fact read your other posts, and I will continue to read lengthy posts by passionate players about the NPE. We get great ideas from you guys and to ignore well-thought contributions would be pretty silly.

I could write a wall of text about your other post but lets focus on this one for now I guess.

  1. There's three sub points here I think. 1a. We just did remake the NPE from the ground up, it took a full team about a year and we don't consider it finished at all 1b. We are currently looking very seriously at making a major change to the starting skill situation for new players. We know that both the perception and reality of barriers related to SP is a big issue for new players and we want to try and fix that. 1c. This is more of a technical question than a design one. They are distributed mostly to avoid clogging of new player systems during huge influxes, like the 'this is eve' trailer. A dynamic system for handling this could certainly be explored.

  2. Again, sub points. 2a. Rather than changing mission rewards we are trying to present missions as just one of many avenues to making money, unlike the old tutorial which funneled you to missions pretty aggressively. 2b. Showing good fits is pretty tricky. We've discussed trying to implement some kind player-curated fitting recommendation system in client but it would be a lot of work. On the other side if we try to recommend fits it will take a lot of maintenance and will often not be the best advice (because we suck at EVE amirite). Something we're still exploring though.

  3. This goes back to 1b. We are looking at a major change to the starting skill situation for the near future.

  4. This is something we agree with you about and you may have seen team size matters discuss changes to attributes around the time they were removing clone grades. There's some design obstacles along the way to removing attributes but I'm confident that eventually we will manage to either remove or change this system.

  5. Getting new players involved in social groups is definitely where we want to be heading. Thinking about some group PVE that new players can easily get involved in seems like a great idea.

Thanks again
