Oregon official objects to diversity training on white privilege, says it could be ‘shaming to Caucasians’

White privilege doesn't mean whites never struggle.

that's the thing a lot of people don't hear. they hear you're privileged while at the same time feels like their suffering in their own lives in some shape or form. again, nuance is lost to most.

That's the privilege white people should admit they benefit from

do you really think the people who are refusing service or discriminating or acting otherwise hurtful to people of color are going to stand up and admit that? just like that because you said so?

seriously, i'm just asking what's the point? anyone who can acknowledge their own privilege isn't going to be the one who needs to be changed.

white privilege is not helping people's empathy, it's alienating large swaths of people, and actually hurting empathy towards certain groups.

all i'm saying is this come to jesus and admit your white privilege isn't really addressing the issue. it's great virtue signaling, but that's about it.
