I believe Garmonbozia could be more than its usual description as the product of pain and sorrow that the occupants of the Black Lodge consume, presumably for sustenance.

It seems to me that it is also a currency of sorts and possibly the quantity one possesses infers rank among the spirits/demons/aliens. The rift between BOB and Mike has been explained as the result of BOB cheating Mike of Garmonbozia.

Also based on both Dougie and BadCoop vomiting it up in differing quantities at the time when they were being pulled back to the Black Lodge sort of suggests that perhaps BOB used some of his (like a dark mana) to "manufacture" Dougie.

The loss of Garmonbozia could be a loss of power and perhaps a lowering of rank that can only be replenished or increased by generating more from the human pawns/hosts.

I get a distinct vibe that perhaps there is a hierarchy within the Black Lodge going all the way up to a "king". Recall the card BadCoop shows to Darya of a demon-like silhouette with a scratched crown on an Ace card. He tells Darya "That's what I want."

Sooooo... perhaps BadCoop plans to be the new "king" of the Black Lodge which would require him to amass a yrev, very large quantity of Garmonbozia. If this hunch is correct, it means BadCoop/BOB is going to have to cause some monumental Pain & Sorrow to acquire it.
