As we stated, absolute sound supression is not the goal of a supressor. Even if what you said was absolutely correct, the sound meter readings don't show this.

You don't convert sound into heat lol. What engineer bro told you this? You are simply creating an expansion chamber through various designs that let the hot gasses expand....reduce pressure and cool down before leaving the supressor. This also let's a more complete combustion happen. As far as the gas is concerned you increased the barrel length by giving it a longer alternative path before exiting.

There are probably hundreds of designs around to achieve this. Some are quieter, but introduce more heat.....more backpressure and wear out faster. It's all about a balance of needs and sometimes absolute sound reduction is the the ultimate goal.

For example, I'll take a smaller can that has averages 3db to 5 db higher than a bigger can for my personal preference. Has nothing to do with either design being bad.
