[OT] RIP Hubert.

I think if there’s any silver lining to it is that it can absolutely change measures to make the sport even safer.

I remember vividly when Earnhardt died reporters would go on TV and say that the cars were as safe as they can be even after 5 drivers died in 18 months, and that you can’t overcome an impact like those and they weren’t survivable.

Yet here we are 18 years later and not a single NASCAR driver has died since then.

Unfortunately we do take that for granted sometimes. This is a dangerous sport and I feel for everyone in that community, and I’m sad for his family, friends, and fans. I hope they can take solace in the fact that he was doing what he loved.
