The person you are replying to is being extremely juvenile and rude, however, India is a bit different in that dual citizenship is explicitly illegal there (whereas in the US and many other countries it just isn't "recognized") so that may be where the confusion is coming from. Perhaps there is a process that they have to go through to prove it has been renounced, unlike those of us who have dual citizenship with other countries, though nothing is showing up for that in a brief google search so maybe not. That being said, this is all pointless as it seems like typical TLC frauding - even as a spouse she would have had to be living there for 7 years AND speak a local language in order to apply to become a citizen.
