It's okay for children and teens but once someone has a conscience and a work ethic, and something called responsibility, one should never take the ouija to a lifestyle; something about when someone makes risk-taking behavior with spirits, it's the same as gambling, where you get to a point in life choices to lose against the house. It's an addiction for some people. The best spirits don't communicate to people who use a talking board like a crutch instead of having fine-tuned skills, and they should never be used for superstition to break rules of reality.

I think what hurts the most is the belief that who you talk to is dead. There are people, like living victims of abuse, who aren't dead out there and use the board maybe not aware the board is there; part of their spirit may be dormant but they're not dead.

There are people out there who are sensitive, but they feel socially guilty about perceiving other people in esp ways, enough to call ambulance and say they're hearing voices, ghost hunters can be a violation of privacy. So when you think it's safe for a ghost hunter, for example, to go to a mental house and provoke the spirits, keep in mind, they're alive in their time and are aware of others with fancy technology intruding their lifestyle, making their life miserable; and it's not from anything they did wrong, it was society making the rules of who was excluded from acceptance for their experiences. That exclusion still happens today in society and it wrecks the lives of people who are on the receiving end of ghost hunters, especially when interacting with modern psychiatric rules in the world. They did everything right, and some ghost hunter or medium wouldn't take no or goodbye for an answer. It's the hardest thing to find the courage to say 'get out of my house' to a ghost hunter spirit, when nobody is actually there, because of the stigma of psychiatry, despite evidence of spirits and other measurements we didn't have before.

I hate ouija boards, but I used them when I was young, because you could destroy the board -- the board is the medium -- without hurting people.
