IIRC several people made this same connection or similar, connecting this observatory and the strange circumstances you described to a real world MIB situation. There was even a youtube video on it at one point.

However, just going off memory here, I believe someone did a very thorough deep dive and was able to persuasively demonstrate (in my opinion) that these events were likely unrelated and that there were in fact legitimate child pedohilia concerns explaining all the law enforcement activity and temporary closure of this facility.

My memory here is a little fuzzy and perhaps someone else here has a better recollection of how this idea has actually played out in past reddit threads and what narrative to date fits the facts best
