Our Policing System is broken

Police services are lacking across the entire country. Applications are down significantly for all major municipal police services and the RCMP. They are receiving less successful applicants each year than the amount of people retiring from police service so It's only going to get worse...especially when the mentality of the online general public is so incredibly anti police that nobody in their right mind would choose a career in which you are immediately hated. On top of that keeping in mind the deaths of police officers in Canada in just in the last couple of weeks.

An individual officers task queues are so significant that it is absolutely overwhelming. The difficulty of managing calls that come in as well as the tremendous amount of paperwork and time required to process even the simplest of calls makes the job virtually impossible to stay on top of. An officers whole shift typically consists of responding to calls and praying that they get 10 minutes of downtime to catch up on my overdue files before the court deadline. A lot of officers don't get a chance to eat lunch, some called for overtime to work before can eat breakfast (if working days)

Crimes with violence against another person is always going to take priority over a property time, and it depends on call volume how quickly calls get responded to. A police officer doesn't get to just not show up to a call, but some are written off before they get a chance to respond to if the incident is no longer occurring and there is not enough evidence to proceed.

Crime is only going to increase as applications and funding decreases. ACAB right?
