Our President Wants to Build a Slum on Campus

I don't think it's quite fair to hold the average college student to their stated political views.

I completely disagree, especially when the group of people I am talking about are often rabid in their responses towards anybody who disagrees with them.

In college, people are often idealistic about reality. As they enter the real world, they often realize that their idealism was silly.

I understand this, but there's a difference between merely disagreeing with someone versus shouting down dissenting opinion, calling anyone "racist/sexist/misogynist" who disagrees with you, and overall acting like a complete and total fascist fuckwad which is unfortunately becoming the norm in liberal politics.

I also think that your 90% liberal number is not quite correct.

It's a rough figure, it's not intended to be 100% accurate. The point I am trying to convey with the 90% figure is that the vast majority of the students at UW (and the students who participate in this subreddit) are liberal in their political leanings. Fine maybe it's 75% of 80% instead of 90%. The overall point I am making is that the vast majority of students are liberals.

Sometimes, it takes somebody building a homeless shelter in your backyard to realize that perhaps "liberal ideas" aren't always so brilliant and perhaps it might be a good idea to be more "moderate" about issues like campus safety.

I'm sorry but I must say that I hold people like this in contempt. I don't respect people who have to be put in danger in order to finally realize that perhaps their ideas put people in danger. These people are so thick-headed and narcissistic they themselves have to be put into potential danger before the light bulb finally turns on and they realize "Hey maybe I shouldn't call people racist/bigoted/heartless when they dissent against putting a bunch of homeless people in their own neighborhood because they fear danger." Why didn't they realize this BEFORE they were put in danger? Why didn't they realize this BEFORE the UW President had the idea of putting a tent city near them? Oh right because up until this point, their beliefs had no impact on their own safety. As long as the tent cities, or the refugees, or whatever were put in someone else's neighborhood and their safety was in jeopardy they were perfectly okay with that. Not only that but leftists think anybody who objects to this is the spawn of Satan, oh unless of course it's themselves who object because of their own safety. In that case their objection is okay because it's about their own safety. These are the same people who claim to believe in equality as well, lol what a fucking joke. They are narcissists who think their own safety is more important than anyone else. So excuse me but I cannot help but feel contempt for these people.
