Unfortunately, we need self defense laws and allow for such things as pepper spray to be available to people to use to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

Yeah I know you can be pricked by someone in a busy crowd and or be assaulted, using the spray may hurt the attacker oh wait who cares, they lost their right when they did the deed.

Our laws suck, read them and you will see just how.... Obscure they are when it comes to self defense. An object you have on your person can only be justified if it's equal measure to the risk or harm potentially done to persons or person.
