Outdoor Bouldering etiquette

I agree with most of this, but will go over it a bit and add some thoughts to the end.

1) Just don't play music. You shouldn't put the burden on others to ask you to stop your behavior that is largely considered rude. You are also deterring others from even heading in your direction if they hear music.

2) Agreed. Just use your common sense with any social interaction. If they seem like they want to be left alone, leave them alone. If they're friendly, make a friend.

3) It is still a formality. There are weird people out there. It takes 2 seconds to ask. Just ask if it is okay to hop in. If they decline you probably don't want to work that problem with them anyways.

4) Boars hair all the way. Additionally, don't hop on a climb right after someone has brushed it. Let them climb it or ask!

5) Like most things, use your common sense and be reasonable.

6) In some places you might get a gun in your face. Never go on private property without consent from the owners.

Always brush your ticks. It takes minimal effort and could improve someones day. This goes along with minimizing impact anyway possible. Obviously chalk on hand holds is unavoidable, but tick marks are. Some people even view ticks as beta spray. Tagging onto this, don't spray beta. Always ask before providing help.

Yes minimize impact and practice leave no trace.

Try to learn local ethics before you go. Additionally beware of weather and certain stone. For instance, sandstone should not be climbed on after rain.

I think it's important to say that even if you are not bothered by something, others are. I personally don't care about many of these things, but I still behave this way towards others. Think of other people and behave appropriately. It takes minimal effort.
