Was OutKast the best at hip-hop?

I never said they were GOAT. OP posed that question. I never said they weren't the best who ever did it either. I just responded to someone who said Noize's production didn't make them any better and I shared my differing opinion.

Not sure the relevance of this? I'm doing the same in the context tof this conversation.

Haiku seems more like Outkast's contemporaries and less like successors. That being said I don't think the industry's fallen apart either. Artists like Drake and Future have far surpassed Outkast's popularity IMO. They aren't better or worse than Kast. They're different animals. I'm just saying Outkast seems to be one of the last successful rapper/musicians.

But Haiku came after Outkast. And the industry has absolutely fallen apart in comparison to Outkast at their height. They would sell millions of records in a matter of weeks. Top artists now are lucky to hit a million in one week including streams.. so how you think it's the same is beyond me?

You also contradict yourself by saying they're one of the last successful rappers/musicians when you, yourself, stated Future and Drake have surpassed their popularity.. so which is it?

You seem like a smart guy, with good taste in music but there's no reason for you to be such a dick to people. This whole sub is about reasonable discussion and musical analysis and not lecturing or being disrespectful. Nobody's dickriding just because they have a different opinion than you about a certain artist.

How exactly am I being a dick to people? When I first joined this thread, the overwhelming response was to dickride Outkast and how they're the best. I was pointing that out and how wrong it was... it would be no different than coming into a thread about The Killers being the best at rock & roll thread if I came in and everyone was gushing over them.
