Oven-Baking to Disinfect N95 and Other Masks

holy sh*t this is wrong.

first and foremost you need to check the maximum temp rating of the mask on its package!!!

I have three types of masks, each with a different max temp rating. One is 55 degrees C, one is 50 degrees C and one is 38 degrees C

These masks aren't 100% polypropylene, they have a plastic exhaust valve, that also has some rubber, and the straps are also rubber. Those are the materials that limit the maximum temperature!

If you ruin your exhaust valve the mask becomes useless! If you ruin your straps they cam break while in use!

People, stop recommending stupid solutions! I know it "might" sound reasonable but it's actually really dangerous!

The only safe method currently known is to just rotate mask at 7 day intervals.

Also, the electric oven must NOT have a working fan while doing it. The fan can spread the virus around your kitchen before the heat has time to deactivate it.
