Over 75% of Utahns support medical marijuana ballot initiative, new poll finds

Yes, if you could keep people from doing any drug, that would fix our problems immediately. Natural selection still would be working in our favor. But that's an impossible reality. 1) THC/CBD is a medicine. You can't argue that fact. Seriously, you cant because it's a proven fact. Next, people from all walks of life are currently abusing street/prescription drugs, and are addicted to the point of doing these drugs while pregnant or losing everything they ever had. Generally these people are horrible for society; they'll steal, they'll kill for their next fix. I would rather someone get high on THC/CBD, still function in society (no matter the consequence because the consequences you listed aren't really different from what normal people go through everyday), and be able to quit whenever they WANT. Even if we get a 10% reduction in the use of the most damaging drugs, that's a win (although I imagine it would be beyond 25% reduction within decades). Society will be better off with gentle potheads than with meth heads, crack heads, and opiate addicts.

And the baby argument... Can't let the baby be hurt, right? Fertilized embryo's already have less than a 66% chance of viability. Creating a human is tough, birth defects are common, and marijuana has been around for millenia. It serves a core function in the human brain as our brain has evolved to have receptors specifically for cannabinoids. I think it should be the last chemical we question when we examine birth defects. I'm strongly against anyone with a viable embryo/fetus doing any self-altering chemical whatsoever including caffeine. It's really sad we have mothers now doing meth and heroin, getting blasted on liquor and smoking cigarettes, when they're pregnant. Men who give no fucks when it comes to impregnating a woman, and have no plans on being a Dad. It's not accidental; it's being oblivious. These people have no rights in my eyes, but we as a society let them do it, and we monetarily pay for them to do it. We let that baby be born into a world of hurt. Why not do something to alter this baby being hurt trajectory that is getting worse?

Maybe clearing one's pysche, grounding people with a mind altering plant, would do great things for our society. Maybe responsible adult marijuana use could spark real conversation in this country. It did in the youth of the 60s, and has ever since. It's time to stop being so hesitant. It's the most widely researched chemical producing plant in history. What are we waiting for, something better? Well, there isn't, and drug companies aren't going to make it better.

In the lingo so many older Americans seem to understand which is Trump: This plant is the freest, most American plant, ever. Ever. This plant is the American dream. Amazing dream. The Founding Fathers loved this plant. Absolutely loved it.--- but you can fact check everything I said in his lingo. Lord, I was born a rambling man. Thanks for reading.
