Over working, staying late, doing over time or “the grind” should not be glamourised.

I don't really know how to answer this without everyone losing their minds and down voting me to oblivion.

But here goes :

  • failed 8th grade, then dropped out halfway into 9th.

  • had a baby before I was 16.

  • worked two shit jobs to take care of said baby and myself.

  • got financial aid to go to my community college.

  • knocked out a year and a half of school before I decided to pay for an entry level certificate in project management.

  • used that to quit my two shit jobs and started at a full time job an hour and a half away from my house.

  • worked my way into a better promotion after a year.

  • applied for a bajillion scholarships to help pay for the transfer to a local university.

  • finished my degree and transfered to a new company.

  • bought a house closer to my job to get my family out of the crime filled low income neighborhood that I grew up in.

  • now I am making almost 4x the money my parents had growing up, not flexing, just a detail of my circumstance.

  • got married and had another kid

  • took me a few years, but I managed to pull it off

  • I turn 30 next month
