From everything mentioned about the upcoming Guy Gardner GL Corps movie/show it seems likely you’ll get your wish and it will be set in a separate universe. I think part of this ‘overhaul’ will be to stop sidelining major characters like Superman and to sit down and figure out what characters need to be separated off to bring out the best about the character and to avoid nerfing issues.

Batman for example works best in his own pocket universe with his villains and supporting characters. If you do a campy version of Batman, you can have Superman flying around in the same scene. Trying to insert Superman into Reeves’ The Batman universe will only take away from the character of Batman because in any realistic take the first question asked is, why didn’t Superman simply do everything with super speed before Batman even had time to put his tights on.

I think this ‘overhaul’ is mostly going to be what they were planning to do before. Have separate pocket universes surrounding a new DCEU main continuity except now that Zaslav the Superman fan is in charge, they’ll focus on Supergirl and a black Superman until they recast and revamp the character of Kal-el Superman in a few years.
