Overwatch - End of 2016 Discussions

I've just finished a writeup of my favourite games from this year, and here's what I had to say about Overwatch:

I'm not a "shooter guy", never have been. I played a bunch of Timesplitters with my brother when we were in our teens but that was about it; the annual Call of Duty and Battlefield releases come and go without me batting an eyelid...

...yet I put over 100 hours into Overwatch. Maybe it's "the Blizzard effect", where any genre they touch turns to gold, or that their art direction and character design is extremely well polished, or the fact that the class system is so simple that there is a character out there for everyone. In any case, if a game like this had people like me looking up highlight reels and tutorial videos every day then it must surely be doing something very right indeed.

Apologies for the self-promotion, I just had the game on my mind and felt I should post my thoughts here as well.
