This raises another issue with OW2, though - it's a lot harder to make new friends on there than it was on OW1.

You can't join a random group and chat with them before starting a match, the post-match chat has been cut too short to write even the most basic text messages, and even in competitive play there seem to be way fewer people on mics now - just because of the increased player pool from it being free.

I only started playing OW1 a few months back because I had a friend who was playing it, but i've since found out she actually hated me (but was just too polite to block me), and i haven't found anyone to play with regularly since - because the in-game mechanics just don't encourage it.
