Agree with what? His overlying point about not just making it a LGBT hate crime? I guess so but to be honest I have no opinion one way or another.

Personally I was more interested in his analysis of ISIS and Salafism which was wrong as I pointed out. Just expanding further on my corrections Qutb ≠Salafism, and Al-Albani made a point of saying that Hasan al-Banna, The Muslim Brotherhood and Qutb were not classically trained scholars and instead made some comments based off their own opinions and or agenda.

The main thing people like ISIS draw from Qutb is his call for violent/physical resistance ("Jihad"). For years the common consensus among Muslims scholars was that the greatest "jihad" was man/womens own internal one. But Qutb didn't like the way Egypt and the Arab world in general was going during the 50s and 60s, he saw that it was becoming more Western, and called for violent jihad within the Arab/Muslim world (modern Islamist have extrapolated that call for violent jihad and used it against Western countries which was never really the point according to Qutb. After the USSR/Afghan war Al-Qaeda actually had a power struggle because some fighters wanted to go back and implement change in their own Arab/Muslim countries whilst people like Bin Laden wanted to attack the West) to try and instigate change because he saw that other more peaceful measures wouldn't work (Egypt was under a repressive dictatorship that whilst some look back positively on now, at the time they didn't allow anyone to express a view contrary to the governments). Qutb was first and foremost an author so he was able to garb a readers attention and inspire them but he wasn't a scholar so people don't draw a lot from him expect that one point about jihad.
