Ownership of train operating companies in Great Britain [OC]

had to take the train twice in the UK. airport-leeds the train got cancelled twice. leeds-airport same thing. there where even automated train ticket return booths (never seen that before, only makes sense if the trains dont run on the reg). ofcourse all the return booths where brocken too. ended up taking an uber to catch our flight. cost me a few hundred extra for lost tickets and cab fare.
On a side note what really struck me was the relativ poverty in general (only been to london before). i stayed as a guest in the former home of some famous rock band (forgot the name) and in contrast the city, tho nice, seemed relatively destitute. so many wealth disparities. When i travelled home it felt as if i had arrived on Elysium.
