Pandemic Forbearance Extended to August 31 (megathread for this topic)

If that’s truly the case then why are you looking for a handout?

Why would I be looking for student loan cancellation? Because I benefit from it and I believe that I was unable to enter the job market due to an arbitrary piece of paper not being in my hand. If you want to go into the failings of US higher education then we can do a deep dive. If you want my backstory, I took 1 to 2 classes a semester for a decade to get a degree between 2010 and 2020 and I have been only recently employed within the last few years in software engineering. During that time I worked at Burger King and Target for $7.25/hr to $9/hr.

Because of my irregular status as a non-traditional student, I ended up paying a ton of money to go to college and didn't get many scholarships so no, my debt isn't paid off.

As for why I want a handout, because I do. I can leave this country and work in another that values skilled labor. Germany specifically is poaching US skilled labor and has a very generous immigration policy for people like me because I can actually benefit their society.

Doesn’t seem to matchup with someone crying for a handout for their student loans.

Hahahahahaha. You should go vote for trump. You sound about as smart as him.
