Paragon point solution = game balance!!!

i don't know if you quite understand the problem.

every point of mainstat is a percent of damage. 10000 stat is 10000 percent damage. so on an ancient weapon with 3000 base damage, your base at 20k mainstat is now 60m damage. anything using weapon damage will now multiply through 60m. multishot at 500% weapon damage now deals 300m base damage before crit multiplier.

to get a boost of 100% damage you need to get to paragon 620. the first 600 points of paragon fill the 50 point sections of 4 trees of basic multipliers, crit chance, crit dmg, cooldowns, loh, etc. once that is full the remaining earned paragons all dump into Main stat. starting at paragon 800.

by that point you have at least 10000 main stat. another 10000 points is only 2000 more levels or 1300 and a bunch of level 50 gems in all your ancients.

this huge mainstat damage boost is the ONLY way to scale damage high enough to begin clearing GR into levels beyond 90.

for every 'returning player who wants to pick the strongest class and make the leaderboards' theres 0 active support to get gems for that player to get that mainstat boost. theres even less incentive for that player to want to sit through 50 bajillion goddamn GR just levelling gems only to lack the skill required to play at the level 90 field.

the problem is that mainstat scaling is the ONLY way to get enough damage to get there.

so paragons - if they change - cannot (absolutely cannot) cap mainstat. you will never ever make it beyond a gr cap solo.

additional skill percents adds literally nothing of value compared to scaling mainstat. +500% to skill X vs +500 mainstat is no contest a win for mainstat. with the example from earlier, capped mainstat at p2000 (minus the initial 800) leaves 1200x5=6000 mainstat. you are now hard limited to around 16k mainstat.

3000 base weapon damage with this stat is now 48m (and you are already gimped for damage by 20%) making the discrepancy up in additional +% boosts means you'll have to get really high extra % points before you even begin to break even. again the multishot from earlier: to get to 300m base damage before crit you will need to boost multishot damage by 125% (using your .1% example that equals 1250 paragons.) you just encouraged people to play 20% more for 20% less rewards and break even with their current characters in 1200 levels.

without a mega nerfbat to monster health and defence for gr from 50-150 i dont see additional skill percentages as being in any way appropriate as a fix.

so yeah this doesnt seem quite correct. to get 34% more damage and get 2 more GR levels you need now 340 more points by your example, i just hope 340 points doesnt mean 340 paragon levels. dividing by 5, 68 levels already seems a big hurdle for a small gain.

340 paragon mainstat is already a bigger boost because it is a base number.
