Paramedics of reddit, what's the most fucked up thing you've witnessed while attending an incident?

not a paramedic but dads friend, who responded to this call, was a paramedic

i was probably 10 years old fishing with my dad, when up the roadway at the lake we hear the unmistakeable sound of a badass car wreck. so, we drive out onto the road and see three things: 1) a truck upside down in the ditch, on fire 2) a guy sitting there on his knees in the grass, covered in blood, looking at the truck 3) a guy no older than 18 laying in the middle of the road, in a pool of blood, with both of his legs hanging off by threads of flesh and ligaments

both guys survived but the one everyone thought was dead (initially my dad thought no pulse, but when EMS arrived he had a very weak pulse and was careflighted) lost one of his two legs and had severe spine damage. never walked again. both got drunk right after leaving school and were gonna drive around on backroads.

don't drink and drive you fucking idiots
