Dude, I'm not arguing because your comment before that made me realize there's no point. You make that clear telling people they're "unwilling to be challenged by other viewpoints". I used to say those things too, it's kind of cringy in retrospect.

You live by striving to the ideal, I don't. That changes how we conceptualize the topic. I'm going to participate in capitalism because I don't want my family to struggle. That doesn't mean I want it to perpetuate in its current form. You want it to topple, I want an achievable next step toward reform. I have no faith in coming close to the ideal because we can't even get people on the same page on masks.

Landlord is bad to you. To me it's (1) a way for me to help ensure financial security for my family and (2) an opportunity for low income/net worth people to advance within the current system. Instead of getting rid of landlords, I'd rather change the approach/rules in a way that benefits the disadvantaged. I get you don't believe in wealth and don't like capitalism, but the fact is those things are very likely to stick around in some form.

This sub is just like all the other ones with a political lean. Post photo/article, express outrage in comments, argue with all opposed. That's why I've stayed away, and am going right back to that. Toxic echo chambers that just raise everyone's blood pressure.
