Less than 8 m109 155mm pieces are functional

M113 from the early 70s that have received no upgrades

NVG equipment is not available to the majority of the military.

One Frigate has been in the Netherlands getting a refit for 3 years now due to slow payments

Vasco da Gama frigate hasn't moved in years - all three MEKO are either 30 years old or approaching. No way Portugal buys 3 replacements before 2030

Patrol boats were meant to have 30mm cannons but they were never bought. Their only defense is a Fuzileiro with a . .50 and whatever G3s they scrounge up

Air defense is handled by the useless Chaparral and less than 100 stingers

The Bartolomeu Dias class frigate can hold 16 ESSM air defense missiles but Portugal bought only 12. The Frigate still in the Netherlands will eventually also need a few my guess is they will never get more

(Spicy take) Commando battalions would be useless in a high intensity fight

As long as PS/PCP/BE have any say things will only get worse. Comunistas and Esquerda out of the geringonça is a good first step
