If you are on FB, this is a fantastic group but you will need to join as it is a closed group.
It is pretty frowned upon using PTA funds for professional development because in theory - if the teacher lands up leaving - then it doesnt benefit the students and PD is supposed to be supplies by the school district and PTA isnt supposed to pay for things like that. That being said - different schools have different financial challenges. If this is not something that is in your already voted on PTA school year budget - then your membership needs to vote on raising/moving the money.
If you are a PTO and not an actual PTA (affiliate with the national PTA), then you need to refer to your bylaws about budget changes.
