Parents, how important is racial diversity within your child’s school district to you?

I’m white and it’s important to me. I grew up in a big city and went to super diverse schools throughout my life. My high school was mostly people of color.

There are suburbs close by my city that a lot of white parents end up moving to and sending there kids to because they think it’s better. I know people who went to those mostly white schools and I just can’t do that. I want my kids to understand people that are different than themselves and from the way some of those people I know talk they really don’t. They say things that are racist but are so unaware they don’t even realize they are saying something not right.

All that to say I think a more diverse school is important.
