Parents think they’re saints for doing the bare minimum

Ha! My Dad thinks he’s The Man doing LESS than bare minimum. He thinks that since he wouldnt do any Dad stuff at all (I mean literally nothing. He doesnt even behave like an adult. Dont get me started on working a job, doing adult things or paying child support) - he could just replace that with something FAR BETTER: being around. Hanging in our rooms basically living there (in my moms apartment; they are divorced) for the weekends, chilling and coming down from his week of hard hanging with his buddies. He “demands respect” for being around as he puts it. But then he’s also the guy who comes to his kids wanting praise for a drawing he made, or who brags that he still rides his bike while his old friends are not.
