Parents of Reddit, what do you wish non-parents knew?

It's not as tough as people say it is, as long as your family is solid. Stick with your spouse and don't be a "FUCK YOU MOM/DAD DIS MIH BABY!!!" piece of garbage. Hear your parents/in-laws out when they tell you how to parent and if you don't appreciate their input, just act like you'll consider their advice, knowing full well you won't. You never know, it might make more sense later/under different circumstances.

Speaking of grandparents, the party doesn't have to be over. My boy spends every Saturday evenings and Sundays with his grandparents, so my wife and I are still able to go out and get blasted, once a week. They love it, he loves it and we get a nice little break.

Potty training is a YOLO situation. Just neanderthall that shit. Whatever feels right in teaching your kid to use the bathroom. Books, practices and expert approved advice amounted to nothing but failed rubbish, compared to having him watch me pee, replacing his diapers with underwear and harassing him to use the bathroom, constantly. Pissed pants is no fun, but it only took him a few accidents to realize he needs to hold it in, tell us he has to go and let it out in the toilet.
