Parents who want schools to reopen this fall say it’s a matter of choice, not politics. ‘Students’ mental health ... has got to be weighed.’

During the lockdown, our numbers went up and down, spiking several times.

What are you talking about? The 7 day moving average is clean.

Now after lockdown where people can interact in groups of 5 or less, where there isn't even any more social distancing requirement on public transport, when schools and workplaces are open, our numbers went down.

They didn't go down. They stayed down.

So no, I don't think the numbers are because of the lockdown. If the lockdown was effective at curbing cases, we wouldn't see spikes a month after it was implemented.

What spikes? The 7 day moving average went down throughout lockdown.

Are you actually reading daily numbers as spikes? That's not an accurate or logical way to read the data. There were backlogs and days when testing was down. You have to look at an average.

We also wouldn't have lower numbers after the lockdown because without anything curbing cases, cases should be exploding.

If we left lockdown with very few cases, where would the cases come from to start the explosion?

So I'd say it's something else that led to the case numbers being low

Just look at the chart.
