Parking Tickets in Tacoma need legal advice

All the money lol. I had no choice but to pay the tickets unless i wanted to stand in front of a judge and represent myself. I raised hell at the city and with the collection offices. I basically told the city that the tickets went to collections and that the collection agency was double dosing on my tickets by not fully closing out the accounts and letting interest accrue. It wasn't until someone on here gave me the language i needed to use. Basically ask for receipts and proof of everything. No matter how much they argue, push for proof.

I believe this caused the city to look into the collection agencies.

I ended up building a list of tickets based on my records and what the clerk at the court gave me. I used this list to enforce what i owed the collections companies if any at all. Their is a separate account number associated with each ticket.

Of all the tickets there were probably 5 that I fought and had some evidence against. Now because I had actual google maps data to prove that i was nowhere near the area at the time of ticketing with screenshots they let it go.

They eliminated those tickets. A lawyer was going to cast a couple grand. I had about $700-800 in parking tickets.

Here is where it gets weird..

Almost directly after all of this they quit ticketing in my area. I found out that there was another case in a different state where the plaintiff made an argument that chalking your car was considered Lying and wait. Basically the equivalent of setting up speed traps or profiling people.

Since then i have not seen a single person with a chalk stick. I believe that the city is currently trying to find/implement another system.

I lived in my apartment for over 5 years and in a the span of a couple months i was given over 20 tickets.

I was glad to have some satisfaction as I sat here and watched the guys writing tickets out of my window. I watched them take note of cars who's time was about to run up, then come back and write a ticket the second the time ran out. Mind you they were doing all of this during the beginning of covid lockdown when people weren't leaving their houses.

People can say what they want, but the city was being predatory in this regard, that or you had some pissed off people who didn't pass their officer training in a time when society was deeming cops to be pointless.
