Passed ICND1 100-101

Like everyone else will tell you, subnetting is a fundamental skill you will need to master and is crucial to success on the exam.

You will need to be comfortable navigating and configuring Cisco devices to do well on the exam. I recommend installing Packet Tracer, which is free now with a Cisco account, and practicing throughout your studies. I watched Jeremy's videos on CBT Nuggets and would pause the video while I tried to reproduce the same scenarios in Packet Tracer. I read through the Exam Cram book and completed all of the review questions and practice tests. This allowed me to discover my weak areas which I was able to take note of and read up on in Odom and Lammle's books and practice in Packet Tracer.

I didn't find the Transcender practice test simulations very useful. They seemed to cover test material that might have been more heavily emphasized in earlier versions of the test. However, a lot of people swear by Boson tests for their similarity to the actual test and might be a good option if you're concerned over the simulations.

Compared to the Network+, which I passed last year, you will need to have some more practical and specific knowledge on the CCENT. I dont want to risk saying more due to the NDA, but as long as you feel confident about all of the official exam topics you should do fine.
