Passengers stuck on United flight in frigid cold for more than 14 hours

I'm going to be the cunt who isn't. I get the fact that they aren't there for our comfort but for our security. Especially in case of an emergency ensure everything goes correctly. Yet airlines have degraded from being serviced based to dumping people in a bus in the sky and the stewards refrain from any form of support. Especially American airlines have a rather bad habit for this (mind you I fly a lot).

Now in this case yes the situation is terrible, but for 14 hours stuck in a tube I would be especially angry at them for doing fuck all. They were especially in the position to either follow the rules, or break them but at least free hundreds of poor souls.
