Passport wedding invitations!

As two questions - how early will your invites go out, and how 'seasoned' travelers are the people you are inviting?

  • Logistics of getting to Vegas - flight options etc (also, for the US you clear immigration and customs at your first stop, likely LA, collect your luggage and then head to your domestic flight to recheck your bags ... I wouldn't bother telling a frequent traveler that, but newbies should know in advance)

  • How to apply for a US ESTA (also, if anyone in your party has any kind of criminal conviction other than a DUI they'll need to apply for a full US B1/B2 visa at the consulate in Melbourne or Sydney, starting with an online DS160 form and they should do that well in advance of their travel date or flight date)

  • Transport from airport to hotel

  • Hotels

  • Money and other practical things in the US if you have novice travelers - things like how to access money whilst away, SIM cards, that prices in the US are usually listed before GST (sales tax), tipping is expected at restaurants (don't be the foreigner who doesn't tip)

  • Nearby attractions like the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon etc, Cirque de Soleil and other shows etc, a 'things to do in Vegas'.

We're not getting married in Vegas, but we do have people coming to the US from Australia for the wedding. We've been walking them through various things (and different people need different amounts of hand holding).
