The patriarchy strikes again

If it is in your own interest or even your occupation - It is definitely condescending and insulting. I think it's important for others to be aware of these things to be able to allow anyone to do as they feel without them being diminished for it.

To add open dialogue to this in a scrambled format, being a gay male I have plenty of people assume what I can and cannot do. My daily life isn't reflected onto these things and I don't think much of it much, though it sucks when you can't be your own individual around these people who judge you - It can be a stranger, friend, or even more close to home. To be fair in my own life it's been mostly "progressive" people who judge me this way. There have been times when I have been treated as if my own multidimensional life only revolves around "LGBT culture" when truly it's far from it - It's hardly apart of my life for whatever it is. Though stating homophobia affects all males with how guys "have to" bulk up/be tall, act like a handsome prick, whatever more, without being treated like less than a man with unnecessary labels. Being gay it's just assumed I am already these imaginary labels. I see a lot of guys suffer with being unable to express their emotions, almost repressing themselves to be neutral to suit these ideals. A lot of men want to express their "feminine" side but do it in private in fear of being shamed for it. Of course this is all on the count of "feminity" being bad, which does come down to sexism towards women.

If that did make sense or didn't at all. It's important for everyone to be who they want to be without these lame assumptions life is just black and white. People need to communicate with one another and be allowed to be comfortable about themselves for who they truly are - Everyone has depth to themselves they're molded to not be able to show.
