You can call me an NK defender, I suppose -- I don't think she's a sterling human being but don't think she was involved in the murders (except unwittingly as a catalyst) and don't like seeing the joy people have imagining her being arrested and tormented. I have no problem with the idea that an "all-American girl" can do horrible things, and men using infatuated women as catspaws is something that's gone on as long as there's been a written record. (WTF with "leather-bound books," by the way? I own leather-bound books, why on earth would you think it would make someone more likely to be judged innocent of anything?) But what I do want to see is evidence, against ANYONE who's accused, not just innuendo and slurs because they're jerks in private life. I don't know anything about this nurse but I would have had zero problems saying that we should withhold judgement until we see what the evidence is. It sounds like the evidence against her is strong. The evidence against NK is not, and frankly I don't see how people can continue fantasizing about how THE TRUTH will come out and they'll get to watch her get perp-walked. You'll have to explain how on earth NK managed to be involved and yet somehow not be caught on anyone's cameras at all (while Watts bumbled around in full view of neighbors' cameras), how Watts, who is a very poor liar, somehow managed to hide her involvement from the police for this long when he literally cracked within days, and how the police themselves weren't able to find any trace of her. These people were leaving electronic and video trails everyone. If NK had gone to their home that night, there would be something on video, on the doorbell cam.

Frankly I find your stereotyping of NK defenders insulting and foolish. I do like to give people the benefit of the doubt, I'd far rather be like that than be one of the people who will hound strangers simply because they think they are (and they may genuinely be) assholes. Remember the Mollie Tibbetts disappearance last summer and how many people were tormenting her friends and family because They Just Seemed Off or weren't crying right or weren't reacting like a movie character would? Were you one of those virtuous "Just asking questions" people? Consider whether tending towards defending others is really such a bad thing as piling on strangers who have been publicly pilloried just because you Have A Weird Feeling about them.
