Patrick Kane’s accuser’s attorney says rape kit evidence bag anonymously delivered to accuser’s mother

You keep going on and on about Blackstone and legal systems, etc., well guess what? Nobody is talking about dismantling the court of law for the court of public opinion. Rather, I challenged your seeming assertion that YOU operate on the standard of "beyond a reasonable doubt" in your daily life and you've failed to address it (likely because you don't; nobody does outside of court). You are not the DA or defence attorney prosecuting/defending Kane, nor the judge, nor the jury in Kane's case, nor is Reddit the court of law in which to convict Kane. Stop trying to pretend I don't know what our legal system is, because that's not even relevant and you know it. Next time someone doesn't hold the elevator for you, think about whether you're going to prove beyond a reasonable doubt before thinking that guy's an ass.

The fact that you cling to the myth of a prevalence of false rape allegations is evidence enough that you're deliberately ignorant. The problem with "false rape allegation" extends as far as defining what it means; studies have shown that it's very subjective and based on the police's or researcher's interpretation of what qualifies as "false". The figure is all over the place (see Wiki for a list) depending on which study you read, but I go by studies from the US and UK authorities (FBI, CPS, etc), which have up to 8% as the false rape figure -- and even that figure is criticized for being over-emphasized.

As for that stupid intensebeets analogy, it's not remotely close to what happened with Kane. If you and he hung out, then soon after you called the cops to report sexual assault, then called his boss about it, yeah, it's very likely he would be put on leave. Stop trivializing rape allegations like it's a fucking joke, it's disgusting.

Lastly, all of this goes to show how you erroneously think we're trying to convict Kane here and end his life or something, which is far from reality. If you think fans (I am a Hawks fan) aren't entitled to call for his suspension, then tell me what you think about companies dropping his endorsements based on allegations alone.
