The Patriots starting Tom Brady in a preseason game was dumber than Deflategate

Firstly, I want to say I posted the article but didn’t know how to comment in the original post. I don’t subscribe to the title, just wanted to post because of how ridiculous this is.

This is just comical. I can’t understand (1) How someone could have studied journalism and produce an article like this and (2) How the majority of NFL fans outside of New England can be so blinded by their hatred for the organization that they honestly believe that a 4 game suspension by Brady is appropriate.

Most people want to look solely at the phone, and essentially any other evidence that would incriminate Brady. What no one cares to take note of is how much scrutiny the NFL is under for this investigation.

The Vikings were fined $25,000, as were the Falcons, for heating up the footballs on a cold afternoon and for artificially pumping crowd noise into their stadiums, respectively. They were fined this amount because the collective bargaining agreement says that this is the amount an individual/team should be fined for manipulating the environment/game balls.

The Patriots have been fined $1M, and docked a first and fourth round pick. Tom Brady is also on the hook for a 4 game suspension. Look at that and tell me anything about that statement is ok. Also, the collective bargaining agreement does not outline this as an acceptable punishment for this scenario, yet no one seems to have a problem with Goodell administering this sentence. How about the legal documentation the NFL has submitted for this case? One prepared by Goodell and his team, another prepared by Troy Vincent, a third by Ted Wells, and a fourth by the NFL legal staff… There is no consistency throughout these reports. One states that it is likely that Tom Brady had involvement in the deflation of footballs, while another says that Tom Brady most definitely acted with intent to deliberately circumvent the rules of the NFL.

And by the way, I’m a Giants fan. I hate the Patriots.
